Welcome and hello!
My name is Rachel and I am originally from WA State and have now lived in sunny San Diego for 5 1/2 years. It has been a nice change of scenery and it's great not having to deal with the rain and cold weather most of the year.
I come from an amazing family that includes my mom, two older sisters, and twin brother (I'm 1 min older!). I also have a sweet rescue pup Madi that came into my life two years ago. I grew up traveling with my family and it has always been an eye-opening experience. It's been wonderful to see new landscapes, taste new foods, and experience other cultures. I especially love capturing memories and the beauty from our travels, so having a camera on me usually isn't a surprise.
Before I made the move to California, I was working in a photo studio capturing photos of families and children. I've always been an artistic person but it was there that I realized how much I enjoyed photography. When I made the move I started a sales job but also decided to eventually go back to school to learn more about photography. I graduated and right away started to reach out to people who wanted photos so I could build up my portfolio and gain hands on experience, to see what did or didn't work.
As of two days ago, I just reached 3 years of officially having my photography business which has seemed to fly by. I now focus on photographing families, children, maternity and couples. I am based in North County SD and have many beautiful spots that I recommend to clients. It's a passion of mine to be able to freeze time for families to look back on.
